Netiquette

It is important to understand that you are responsible for the choices you make and the way you treat others online. When using the Internet to collaborate and communicate with others you must be willing to follow some general, common sense rules.

Sometimes the online world can feel "pretend" because you cannot see the person you are talking to. It is very important to remember that you are dealing with "real" people online and you should use your very best manners - just as you would at home or at school. It is sometimes easier to say and do things online that you might not do in ‘real life’.

3 simple netiquette rules:
  • Treat others the way you would like to be treated
  • What is acceptable to say and do offline is the same online
  • Tell a parent, teacher or adult if you feel uncomfortable or scared about anything you experience online
